Fishing in Manitoba

Fishing in Manitoba
By: Brent Sage

Location, Location, Location

Some of the best fishing Canada has to offer is Manitoba, a province since 1870. Situated in the central region of Canada, it offers every form of outdoor recreation available. The motto of Manitoba is “glorious and free.” Taking that to heart, some of the more popular activities are camping, boating and fishing. Fishing in Manitoba is a year-round sport with plenty of destinations since it is rich in spring-fed lakes, pristine northland and untouched wilderness. Whatever the reason to plan on fishing in Canada, you’ll always find the ideal fishing spots in Manitoba.

So Many Lakes To Choose From

With the abundance of lakes and rivers Manitoba fishing is an angler’s dream come true. Not to mention that the fun continues year round with plenty of ice fishing. Whether you are looking to fly into a camp or launch a boat in a more populated area, there is always a good fishing hole close by. Your vacation can be as simple as going out on the local lake with some friends for an afternoon of fun to finding the perfect destination and catching a trophy fish. Sport fishing is an excellent way to show off your skills. Fishing derbys and tournaments are always taking place in Manitoba, many of which have large prizes to be won. Some folks swear by catch and release, others fish for food, while others still fish for the trophy and bragging rights.

Creating Fish Stories Of Many Species

Manitoba is home to the oldest master angler program in North America at 45 years. In an average year, more than 28,000 fish from 30 qualifying species are caught and recorded. Manitoba lakes have lots of different species, such as Perch, Brook Trout, Carp, Smallmouth Bass, and Rainbow Trout but some of the most popular types are Lake Trout, Northern Pike, Walleye and Burbot. These four are also some of the largest fish, with records of 59 inches for a Northern Pike, 54 inches for a Lake Trout, a 39 inch Walleye and a 42 ˝ inch Burbot.

Manitoba Fishing By The Numbers

Fishing in Manitoba brings with it lasting memories of outdoor adventures such as boating and fishing on one of over 100,000 lakes in the province. There are 53 Provincial Parks from which to select your next adventure in boating or fishing. Four of the parks take up the northwest region and account for some of the world record catches. Water temperatures between twelve and eighteen degrees Celsius are ideal fishing conditions for trophy Trout and generally late spring to early summer.

Lodges Can Make The Difference

To truly enjoy the great outdoors and all that fishing in Manitoba can offer, one can look at the variety of ways to stay there. First figure out exactly what you want in your vacation, research the best places to enjoy what you want to do, and then leave the details in the capable hands of a qualified lodge outfitter. One of the best ways to appreciate fishing in Manitoba is to find a lodge offering fly-outs to remote lakes where the fish are waiting for action. You’ll find no better hosts than the fishing lodges of Manitoba.

Attention Fishing Resort Managers

Finding Fishing Lodges with Keyword Technology
If you want more people finding your Canadian fishing lodge online, look no further than advertising on our sites. We are experts in helping lodges such as yours get positioned on search engines by using the most powerful tool available today, Keyword Technology. It's a process we've developed and tested with incredible results since 1996. Several lodges such as yours have realized the importance of teaming up with us. Just contact us at Uppgroup Inc. to have your lodge found by people who are reading our articles and looking for a first class lodge such as yours. It only makes sense to partner with a site that has the most traffic coming to their site. By simply having your lodge placed on one of our premium sites, you stand a greater chance of receiving more traffic.

Over 95% of all new visitors to a web site originate from major search engines such as MSN, Yahoo, Google and others, up from 85% in the last year alone. This means it is essential that fishing lodge owners ensure that their customers can find them. While most lodge owners realize the importance of web site positioning, very few have the time or knowledge required to ensure their site is found ahead of the competition. With Keyword Technology they now have this critical task taken care of for them. Remember this key fact...if your lodge or resort isn't advertised on our site, your competition will have the advantage over you and they'll be the lodges landing the big ones!
